Senior Backend Developer

We are currently looking for a Backend Developer, willing to join a project for our strategic client –  one of the largest agricultural companies from Sweden, offering IoT solutions and assets management. The project features a modern technology stack, with minimum to no legacy such as microservice + micro frontend architecture, serverless, and cloud-native approach.

The company is well-established in the market, but even so, the work culture is not like in typical corporations. Teams are small and autonomous, engineers are given extensive freedom of action, and a remote-first & async-first approach is promoted. Duties and responsibilities:

• Develop microservices based on Typescript & Node.JS (like feature toggle service or event messaging spoke service).

• Design and develop cloud-native applications based on AWS services, like Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB and EventBridge.

• Work closely with the Architecs & SRE teams on guidelines, standards, and reliability.

• Design and implement automated unit/integration/performance tests. 

• Collaborate with the team and drive it in the right direction while ensuring high code quality and standards.

• Be actively involved in designing and developing reliable & secure backend features and functions.
• Work with continuously delivered (CI/CD) systems.

Recommended skills and experience:

• Min. 7 years of experience as a backend/full stack developer, with recent projects in TypeScript & Node.JS.
• Good knowledge of developing and using AWS infrastructure.
• Familiarity with AWS Serverless (Lambda, API Gateway, EvenBridge) & Persistency (DynamoDB, S3, SNS, SQS).
• Experience in working with Microservices architecture, Cloudfront or (preferably) CDK.

• Ability to share your knowledge, experiences, and opinions on the forum via technology demos/brainstorming sessions.

• Willingness to grow and learn with a passion for creating new solutions.

• Experience in working closely with product and design teams as well as doing pair programming in small, agile, and cross-functional teams. 

• Ability to provide mentorship and help others expose their potential via straight, fact-based, and constructive feedback.

• Fluent verbal and written skills in Polish and English.

Nice to have:

• Ability to code in Python.

• Using and troubleshooting in Sentry.
• Creating and managing CI/CD pipelines in GitLab.
• Working with Backstage (Dev Portal).
• Developing dashboards in Grafana.
